At Creative Scholars Preschool (CSP), every classroom is designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and joyful learning. Here are answers to questions we frequently receive about our unique approach to education and classroom experiences.
What’s the difference between Infant, Toddler, Tots, and Junior Kindergarten classrooms?
Each classroom at CSP is thoughtfully tailored to match children’s developmental stages:
- Infants (6 weeks–12 months): Gentle, nurturing care focused on sensory exploration and building trust.
- Toddlers (12–24 months): Encouraging early independence, language development, and social interactions.
- Tots (18–36 months): Structured yet flexible activities supporting emerging skills in communication, creativity, and cooperation.
- Junior Kindergarten (3–6 years): Preparing children academically and socially for kindergarten through inquiry-based projects, collaborative play, and creative expression.
What is inquiry-based learning, and why do we use it?
Inquiry-based learning means children actively explore questions, ideas, and interests guided by teachers. It encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and fosters a lifelong love of learning. At CSP, we use this approach to empower children to learn by doing and asking meaningful questions.
How do teachers balance play and academic learning?
Our educators seamlessly blend structured activities with free play, understanding that play itself is a powerful learning tool. CSP teachers intentionally design activities that naturally integrate early academic concepts into playful, engaging experiences.
How will CSP prepare my child for Kindergarten?
Our Junior Kindergarten program emphasizes foundational academic skills, social-emotional development, and independence. Through hands-on learning experiences, your child will build the confidence, curiosity, and academic readiness needed for a successful kindergarten transition.
What curriculum milestones do you track?
At CSP, we carefully observe and document each child’s development across key areas such as social-emotional growth, language acquisition, cognitive skills, fine and gross motor abilities, and early academic competencies. Families receive regular updates and feedback on their child’s progress.
